FICEP disc saws: the value of flexibility

Fast and productive
The ‘SP’ series stands out for its high-speed cutting of pipes. Rubat explains, “This range has been designed with special attention to sizing the crucial components to minimize blade vibrations. Special care has been given to fine-tuning the software managing the cutting parameters during the work cycle. This involves dynamically adjusting the blade rotation speed and the head feed during the pipe’s inlet-outlet phase, where the metal section engaged by the blade is greater compared to the central part where thickness is minimal. This also reduces cutting time. Our lines overcome the limitations of traditional disc or band saws, increasing productivity through their superior speed, precision, cut quality, and reduction of production waste.”

Market attention
FICEP doesn’t offer standardized solutions but leverages its decades of experience to provide specific solutions for various customer requirements. For instance, FICEP can combine its broad range of bar loaders with both automatic magazines and AGV shuttles for laser-guided transfer of bar bundles from steel stock to the machine rollerway.

Rubat notes, “In recent years, we have installed many systems. These sales are also due to collaboration with major world-class engineering companies that have sought us out and chosen us as their partner. We are also introducing our sawing machines in the non-ferrous metal sector, such as large-dimension copper and aluminum bars.”

FICEP’s sawing machines can be equipped with automation for unloading parts using anthropomorphic robots.

Rubat concludes, “Many customers have asked us to manage the unloading of parts due to issues such as noise, the need to avoid dented parts, and handling long parts that must be loaded into special bins. Additionally, some customers require parts to be received on special platforms for another robot to load them into heating equipment. The robots can also weigh and/or dimensionally check large workpieces. These highly automated solutions allow us to offer increasingly functional and flexible cutting lines.”
