From June 23 to 25, 2025, FICEP hosted a major Open House entirely dedicated to the world of forging, focusing on key strategic topics such as automation, digitalization, energy efficiency, and the company’s international expansion.
Over the course of the three-day event, we welcomed more than 100 guests from all over the world and showcased 23 machines, including presses, cutting systems, and automation solutions. The goal was clear: to present advanced, comprehensive technologies capable of meeting the most complex market demands.
On the occasion of the event, FICEP CEO Barbara Colombo stated:
«FICEP continues to lead the forging sector by providing complete solutions, from cutting systems to various types of presses, all integrated with modern automation. In the past three years, for example, this division has sold 123 machines across 16 different countries. Our main markets have included Italy—boosted by the benefits of Industry 4.0 and 5.0 transitions, especially in terms of improved energy efficiency and consumption—and countries such as Kazakhstan, Poland, India, Romania, Mexico, the United States, and others.»
FICEP continues to expand its machine portfolio through constant vertical and horizontal development, offering a wide range of solutions spanning from cutting systems (cold cutting, hot cutting, billet shears) to presses (hydraulic or eccentric mechanical, Direct Drive or screw presses for forging and deburring), automation, and robotics. All of this is supported by a dedicated team focused on the engineering of turnkey solutions.
The forging sector is among those with the greatest growth potential in the coming years, thanks to technological innovations that are profoundly transforming the industry. However, promoting technical knowledge and training remains essential.
«The factors we are focusing on to grow in the forging segment are international presence, also through our subsidiaries and local agents, and the breadth of the range. In this regard, we are moving into the segment of very, very large presses: there are no longer extra-European presses, and this has created a market gap. However, we also aim to grow in terms of turnover, leveraging our strong expertise.
Just think that with DD presses, which incorporate KERS technology, the energy recovery system with brushless motor that ensures a higher level of overall reliability and better energy consumption management, we reach up to 12,800 tons of maximum admissible force with the DD1600.
Also in mechanical presses, we are moving towards a very large size range: we are already producing the 6,300-ton and 8,000-ton of force presses», highlights the CEO of FICEP.
To complete its range of solutions dedicated to the forging sector, in addition to high-speed circular saws for cutting billets and tubes—even in bundles, FICEP also offers saws specifically designed for processing superalloys such as duplex, superduplex, titanium, stainless steel, and other special alloys.
With such a comprehensive range, FICEP truly aims to offer complete technical solutions, tailored to each specific application. Unlike Asian competitors, FICEP stands out for its ability to identify the most suitable solution for every requirement: from selecting the press to defining the production process, all the way to engineering the optimal layout.
Another strength lies in the MF series, dedicated to hot forging: a line of eccentric mechanical presses in continuous evolution, designed to cover the entire production process, from cutting to final deburring.
Available from 250 to 8,000 metric tons of force—including the new MF4000, MF6300, and MF8000 models—the MF presses deliver high performance on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials (steel, aluminum, titanium). The MF4000, in particular, is a testament to this innovation, engineered to ensure unmatched levels of productivity, reliability, and repeatable quality.
The 2025 Forging Open House was therefore a valuable opportunity for dialogue, updates, and strategic vision, reaffirming FICEP’s role as a global reference point in the sector. An event that successfully combined cutting-edge technology with tangible growth, further strengthening the company’s leadership in the world of forging.
