FICEP is proud to unveil the latest breakthrough in steel construction technology: the GEMINI LASER, the new flagship of our product lineup. Building upon the legacy of the renowned GEMINI, an automatic gantry CNC system for drilling, milling, and thermal cutting of large plates, the GEMINI LASER takes performance and precision to unprecedented levels.
The GEMINI LASER is an automatic gantry CNC system capable of performing multiple operations with precision and efficiency. From laser cutting and bevelling to milling, drilling, tapping, and marking, it seamlessly handles plates of varying thicknesses, ensuring unmatched accuracy and productivity.
The heart of the GEMINI LASER consists of its advanced laser cutting technology, which redefines performance by combining a mobile gantry design with cutting-edge laser technology, ensuring 100% productivity even during material loading and unloading. The GEMINI LASER can process plates from 5 mm to 60 mm thick and is available with laser sources from 12 kW to 30 kW, delivering competitive, high-quality cuts on both mild and stainless steel. Additionally, more powerful laser sources exceeding 30 kW are offered based on application needs, further increasing the maximum plate thickness that can be processed. One of its standout advantages is the significantly reduced kerf gap, which minimizes slag production—resulting in lower cleaning costs, reduced maintenance downtime, and extended nozzle life.
The GEMINI LASER is designed for precision, versatility, and efficiency, making it the ideal choice for high-performance cutting. Its dual-guide laser head ensures exceptional accuracy, while an optional ±45° bevel head expands cutting capabilities for complex designs. Our innovative laser source eliminates fiber length constraints, enabling simultaneous plate processing for maximum productivity. Safety is paramount, with a protective enclosure that moves with the gantry to contain beams, and a mobile suction catcher that extracts gases and reduces costs. For seamless operation, the automated nozzle changer optimizes performance with brushing and calibration, ensuring durability and adaptability.
In addition to its revolutionary laser cutting capabilities, the GEMINI LASER excels in all critical fabrication processes:
Marking and scribing for fabrication, bending, identification lines, and part numbers—with options for deeper marking that withstand subsequent painting or galvanizing
Drilling and tapping with a high-speed spindle capable of producing holes from 5 mm to 60 mm (and milling holes up to 250 mm) with tolerances as tight as 0.1 mm
Face and slot milling on stock plates to create machine parts and structural components, eliminating costly secondary operations
Edge laser beveling for creating weld preparations (V, Y, X, K), with milling reserved for precision bevels
GEMINI LASER features a robust twin bridge beam box design ensuring minimal deflection during drilling and milling, combined with high precision hardened and ground helical racks on X, Y, and U axes. Its simple floor-mounted, compact design maximizes production efficiency even in limited spaces.
With a 7,000 RPM spindle, automatic tool-changers, integrated plate clamps, and a secondary X-axis that reduces chip-to-chip time, it delivers rapid and accurate milling, drilling, tapping, countersinking, and boring. An innovative plate-referencing laser automatically rotates nesting programs, eliminating the need to square plates prior to processing, while cost-effective helical and face milling enhance functionality.
With GEMINI LASER, fabricators gain access to the most powerful and innovative laser plate processor in the industry. Designed for exceptional performance, reduced costs, and unmatched precision, this machine is an essential tool for manufacturers looking to stay ahead of the competition.
Experience the next generation of plate processing with GEMINI LASER – the ultimate fusion of power, precision, and productivity!
